The layout was simply dazzling and beautiful; swirls, mats, braided together within the grain. The Circle Makers had really pulled out all the stops to impress us!
Below are some extra details for this trip…
A day later, on August 5, Sophie discovered Pietersen (a friend and traveling companion from my third group) during her flight out to see two new formations.
The first was near East Kennett by Cow Hill.
Of particular interest is the underlying construction line through the field that is not visible in the picture of Bert Janssen, but it is clear to see from a different angle, as shown in the photo below from Steve Alexander:

These two formations found on August 5 Sophie found to be unusual for East Kennett.
On most crop circle sites this circle is listed as discovered on August 6th, but here’s the picture Sophie already took of it when it was really found on the 5th.

At first I thought it was a wrecked formation (cut out by the farmer), but the picture of Steve Alexander is clearly see this particular layout and the cut in lines.
Later on August 6th there was was a little beauty at Hackpen Hill, in the same field where the Moon & Spiral formation was already found:

On August 8th a brilliant second formation on Green Street, Avebury was explored.
I was standing right on the spot.
In the picture above are the two formations where you can see the bottom of the stone circle of Avebury in the background.
On August 12th this formation appeared at Mixon (near Etchilhampton) in Wiltshire:
Following these simple designs a new formation appeared a day later (August 13th). This magnificent Gussage formation was seen at St. Andrews, in the county of Dorset:
A formation emerged in the county of Northumberland on August 15th, but was found directly by the farmer. An aerial as far as I know was never made before it was plowed over.
And then an extremely beautiful and special formation on August 16th, in the county of Warwickshire, in the town of Ansty, east of Birmingham.

Also in Dorset the Circle Makers have created a special formation on August 22. Again at Sixpenny Handley.
This season just will not come to an end!

Five days later, on August 29th, extremely late in for the season, an intriguing formation was again reported in Arklane (near Stroud Green) in Essex:
Again two days later, on August 31th, formation number three was found in Arklane in Essex. This area was becoming very active indeed:
As if this site had not yet received enough energy, another was found (#4) on September 3rd, extremely late in the season!
This picture gives a good overview of three out of the four formations found at Arklane in Essex:
