The changes in the Answer, and thus the content of the message, gave the researchers the creeps. From top to bottom, this is what is said...
First of all our decimal system was unchanged.
The first change was found in the most basic chemical elements of life on earth. In our original message, NASA had put hydrogen, carbon, oxigen, nitrogen and sulphur. These elements had been copied in the Answer, but one element had been added: element 14, silicon. To tell you the truth, this sent shivers down my spine, for most of the unusual substances found in crop circles are silicon compounds...

The next difference in the Answer was the information about our DNA. Our DNA contains two strings (Double Helix; is there a link to the crop formation of 1996?), whereas the DNA in the Answer clearly consisted of three strings. Furthermore the information about the number of nucleotides in the DNA had been altered.
And then... the information about our planet, its place in our solar system, humanity and population density. The Answer granted us a view into another world. The image of a human being had been replaced by the image of another being. A humanoid, complete with a trunk, arms, legs, and a head, but the proportions were completely different. The head was relatively quite large and the eyes were marked. Contrary to the original image of a human being, in which the eyes had not been explicitely marked, the eyes of this creature had indeed. In other words: large eyes in a large head. The total height of this creature was, according to the Answer, only one meter, whereas the height of the average human had been indicated in the original NASA message as 1.78 m. All of this information showed a srtiking similarity with the Grey Aliens, the ETs who - according to eyewitnesses - have been visiting our planet for several centuries...
