FACTS & THEORIES

Did I ever see a crop circle being formed??

number of pages: 2

Not in the literal sense, but I was present during the actual forming of two formations: one in England in 1995 and one in Germany in 2000. Both events were extraordinary experiences, that I can summarize as 'not of this world'.

The first experience happened to me during my first crop circle season in the UK: in 1995. I was going to do a night watch with Bert Janssen on top of Knap Hill (Alton Barnes, Wilthsire). We had been told that this was a magnificent place, well known for its many sightings. Furthermore, the famous East Field lies at the foot of Knap Hill: a field that receives formations every single year.

Knap Hill

We arrived at the foot of Knap Hill at about eleven p.m., where we met a German guy who was camping out with a small tent. Totally excited he told us that, the night before, he had witnessed a ball of light, only a few feet away from him. He said that the light had started to bounce up and down after which it had disappeared. When he checked out the exact spot, he discovered two small, fresh grass circles. He showed us the circles, clearly visible in the grass at the foot of the hill.

All excited, we said goodbye and walked to the top of Knap Hill, equipped with a small chair and a sleeping bag. On top of the hill, we made ourselves comfortable and enjoyed the still, warm summer night. There was no wind, which is exceptional for the place. After a while, we decided to take turns and sleep a bit, so that one of us would be awake all night long. Bert was the first to go to sleep.

After about one hour, suddenly I heard an electromagnetic crackling sound, nearly behind me at a close distance. The sound was very similar to what you hear right below power lines. And then, something really weird happened...

Instead of responding 'normally' (look around, be surprised, curious or scared), I did nothing at all. I did not have the slightest urge to turn around in order to see what was causing the sound. I felt utterly happy. Everything was perfect, I was experiencing an absolute state of bliss...

After a while, the sound disappeared. Then it reappeared, this time more to my left. The sound started to move. Now it was in front of me, no more than 6 to 9 feet away from me. I remained in bliss and - totally intuitively - sent out the following thought: "Welcome! How wonderful that you are finally here... I am so glad we finally meet..." I just kept sending out these phrases, totally on the automatic pilot...

Now that the sound was right in front of me, I could see that there was nothing there. No lights, no alien, no human, no animal. Absolutely nothing. Due to the moonlight I could clearly see the scarce plants and Bert in his sleeping bag, a few feet away. My promise to wake Bert up if anything at all would happen, didn't occur to me once. My intention to record any anomalous sound (I only had to push one button!) didn't occur to me once. Somehow it was the most natural thing ever. Well, at least in my experience at that particular moment in time, it was...

The sound must have stayed there for about an hour. My intense happiness remained and the sense of contact was overwhelming. It felt as if a wave of unconditional love washed over me...

At about 2.00 a.m. I woke Bert to take turns. When he asked me if anything strange had occurred, I said no, whith a happy smile on my face from ear to ear. Like I said before, it all seemed so natural to me. Luckely the sound returned after about ten minutes. I heard Bert ask: "Hey, did you hear that?", I smiled: "Mmmmm, that has been here all the time..." Bert's reaction was a bit less strange and intense, but he too remained seated on his small chair and felt no urge whatsoever to get up and it check it out...

The next morning at about 5.00 a.m., we silently got our things together and walked down to the foot of Knap Hill. Both of us realised how silly we had responded and how weird the entire event had been. The bliss was over... At the foot of the hill, we passed the two small grass circles. To our great surprise, a third one had come down that night! A beautiful, fresh grass circle, right next to the other ones.

What exactly happened that night, eight years ago, I still don't know for sure. I can only explain it intuitively as an encounter with the Circle Makers: non-physical beings who are here with a beautiful goal and an aura of pure, unconditional love. In spite of not having a physical body, they are perfectly capable of making contact with people. A form of contact I can only describe as 'not of this world'; intense and loving like I have never experienced before in my life...
