In 2001 yet another remarkable event took place with no less than three eyewitnesses. In Stadskanaal (NL) a beautiful scorpion-like formation appeared on 1 August. Researchers Dr. Eltjo Haselhoff, Robert Boerman and Jan-Willem Bobbink visited the formation on 7 August. The head of the scorpion was connected with a tail consisting of 8 circles.
After several hours of intensive field work, Robert made some pole shots (photographs taken from a heigh post) of the formation. About one hour later they finished their work and were about to leave the formation. Suddenly Robert felt a strong urge to go back to the tail of the formation. He followed his intuition and walked through the tail towards the formation's end. As he arrived there, he noticed - to his utmost surprise - that a ninth circle had appeared!
