Apart from this event, something extraordinary happens all the time at the Van den Broeke's. One day the lights hit a bird's house in the backyard. The result was, once again, burn marks on the wood and even on the small metal roof...

In 2000 Robbert saw a bright, pink 'star' in the sky, that suddenly approached with high speed. The light stopped above a field behind his house and started to emit a light beam onto the crop. Robbert ran downstairs and into the field. The light had disappeared but right there - where the light had touched the ground - was a fresh crop circle. Robbert later stated that he could clearly feel the heat that was still there: the plants, the ground, the air, everything was hot...

On 21 August 2001 yet another mysterious event took place. BLT Research Team member Nancy Talbott was staying at the Van den Broeke's for a few days. She and Robbert had been talking all night, and it wasn't until 3.00 a.m. that she decided to go to bed. Out of fatigue and frustration about the difficulty studying and comprehending this unexplicable phenomenon, she said to Robbert: "Why can't this phenomenon be more obvious, more direct?" and then went upstairs to her bedroom. From her bed she could see the farmfield behind the backyard. Then, all of a sudden, something happened that blew her away. I'll quote her own words, so you can read it first-hand:

"Then, at about 3:15 am, a brilliant, intense white column, or tube, of light (about 8 inch to 1 foot in diameter from my vantage point) flashed down from the sky to the ground, illuminating my bedroom and the sky as brilliantly as if from helicopter searchlights. My room was so bright I can't, in retrospect, understand how I could so very clearly see the "tube" of light outside (it's distinct edges) but I could for about a full second, and there seemed to be a slight bluish tinge along the sides of the tube. Then this tube of light disappeared and both my room and the outside went dark".

"While the tube of light was there it was so bright I couldn't see exactly where it was touching down and wasn't sure how close it was. Approximately one second of total darkness elapsed and then a second tube of the same brilliant white light, slightly edged in a bluish tint, appeared slightly to the left of where the first tube had been. Again the room and the outside lit up spectacularly, somehow leaving the intense tube of light clearly visible for about one second. Then, after another second's darkness the third and final tube decended to the ground. There was no sound at any time during the light incident".

Robbert had seen the same thing from the kitchen window on the first floor. He ran upstairs to warn Nancy, as she ran downstairs to warn him. The rest of the family was awoken by their yelling. Robbert and Nancy then went into the field of string-beans. They found a fresh formation, with steam coming off...

What exactly is happening at Hoeven, we don't know yet. However there is a clear connection between the lights and the crop formations. Both phenomena seem to go hand in hand; every time the lights appear, a fresh formation can be found in a field nearby the next day. Furthermore there is a clear link to Robbert. How this links works precisely, is not clear yet. At any rate, Robbert plays an important role in the appearance of the crop circles in and around Hoeven, and he has direct telepathic contact with the Circle Makers...

On 6 May 2004 the anomalous events in Hoeven started to accelerate. Robbert saw, photographed and video filmed a white mist in the house, from which an alien materialised.
