UPDATE AUSTRALIA

In March and April 2008, once again I visited Australia to give presentations, workshops, and interviews about the crop circle phenomenon. This is a brief report of that journey...

March was fully focused on my new book: "Crop Circles - Scientific Evidence". I finished writing and designing the lay-out and art work in Perth on the West Coast of Australia.

It was wonderful to be back and to see how the Circle Makers were working with me and through me. The inspiration was full-on, the pages flowed non-stop via my fingertips into my laptop. Sometimes - when I tried to download a photograph for instance - I got the weirdest error reports. Finally I started to get the message: maybe the Circle Makers were trying to tell me they didn't like the photo, or maybe they thought it wasn't the right place for that particular picture!

Until a few years ago I didn't think like that at all. I went to university where I was taught to think in a rational, analytical way. But in the course of the years, I have felt the existence and presence of the Circle Makers so strongly, that I have changed utterly.

I totally surrendered to their input while writing the book. Thus, it went effortless... In less than a month the book was there. Now all I need to do is finish the final details and then it's off to the printer. I expect it to be in the shops in August.

April was the opposite of March. Still symbiotically one with my laptop in March, in April all energy was beaming outward! I flew to the other coast (4.5 hours by plane, Australia is so massive...) and gave presentations in the capital of Canberra and in coastal Narooma. Furthermore, I gave two full-day workshops. All events had been organised beautifully by Grant Robb and Stina Kerans (both of whom have become close friends in the last two years).
The press was present as well; it was wonderful to see how their attitude is changing. Two years ago they were still sceptical and asked very basic and predictable questions. This time however, the journalists had really studied the subject and their attitude was serious and professional. What a magnificent development!

I had focused my presentation on the connection with the Mayan Calendars and 2012, and the role of their Gods (such as Quetzalcoatl) in the crop circles. I showed some of the brilliant work of my dear friend Red Collie (DNA-scientist and crop circle researcher). To everyone's surprise and excitement (including my own), he turned up at the show! The following day (during the worshop) he gave a spontaneous and magnificent presentation as a guest speaker. Quite a surprise and honour!

Subsequently, the rollercoaster continued and I drove to Sydney to meet up with my crop circle friend Megan Heazlewood. I had been mailing with Megan for over a year when we finally met last summer (July 2007) in Wiltshire. There was an instant 'click' between us and we became good friends. (Thanks to the crop circles I meet the most magnificent people!)
After a few days and yet another lecture, we had a meeting with Debbie Malone, one of the greatest psychics in Australia. We had e-mailed and phoned a few times prior to our meeting, as we both study the 'strange lights phenomenon' and wanted to compare and share our findings.

In her (dark) office we filmed our meeting with my Sony Super Night Shot video camera. Within a few minutes the first balls of light came flying throuhg the view finder! They were made visible by using infrared light. I need to see how to download pieces of that footage onto my website, but I will jeep you posted. What an exciting development! This will be a breakthrough in the study of the light phenomenon. After all, video images are more convincing than still photographs.

After two months I flew back to the Netherlands, tired but contented. In October and November I will go once again, both months are being planned in for me as we 'speak'. It is really good to see how strong the Australian demand is for information and knowledge about the crop circles (and about UFOs too; there is a massive UFO flap going on in the entire country!)
And I will finally be meeting an Aboriginal Elder. I so long to hear their opinion about the crop circles...

Finally, an interesting development: during my presentations there were quite a few farmers in the audience. Afterwards, they came up to me and said: "We have always had formations in our crop. Our fathers and grandfathers had them too. We have always known they weren't made by people, but we didn't know we could report them!" Indeed there are only few reports from Australia. I thought maybe the Circle Makers aren't interested in this continent, for whatever reason. But now I realise they simply aren't reported. How many formations do we actually miss out on? I really believe that the thousands of formations we now have in our databases are merely the tip of the iceberg...
