For many years I have been studying the 'strange lights phenomenon'. They appear on thousands of photographs, in a variety
of shapes, colours, and dimensions. The most common 'explanations' are:
- "The lights only appear on digital photos, so they must be camera errors"...
This is not correct. They also appear on analogue photos and slides.
- "Each camera has its own kind of lights, so they must be camera errors"...
Not correct. People photograph many different shapes with one and the same camera.
- "They only appear when you flash, so it must be the reflection of the flash onto dust"...
Not correct. They also appear on photos that were taken without flash.
- "It is only the reflection of the flash onto moisture particles"...
No, not true. A simple experiment can rule this out. When I was in Hong Kong recently, I expected dozens of balls of light
on my photos, as the moisture in the air is between 80 and 100%. Yet, I photographed none.
Take a look at the following photos of lights that just cannot be explained away...
I took these pictures during one of my presentations in Belgium on February 22, 2008.
A strong, soothing presence was felt by myself and most people in the audience. I took several photos and quite a few
showed the most extraordinary lights, with colours and shapes I had never seen before. Some resembled little birds or
even fairies!
