In June 2002, while carrying out field research in the beautiful Flower formation at Simonshaven (NL), I found countless stems that were cut off under an angle. The end of the stems contained a strangely looking substance. The colour of this substance varied from milky white to pink and orange-red. On some stems this substance was dry, yet on others it was wet and sticky. The farmer told me that, when he discovered the formation in the early moring hours, a red glow had covered the field. I took several samples and sent them to a Dutch lab for analyses. The outcome is still unknown, but I will keep you posted...
